Presents!

I have been slaving away working on birthday and Christmas presents.

It seems like every day i'm waking up early to finish my work so i can hurry and get to my sewing.

I've finished a baby shower gift and birthday gift so far.

Both didn't turn out exactly how i wish they had but i still think they're cute and full of personality.

Houndstooth Purse

Okay, who doesn't love Houndstooth?

It's impossible not to love it right?

Well this fabric caught my eye not only because it's Houndstooth and amazing colors but also because it was on sale for an unbelievable price.

I love that!

I made this bag a little different than my previous ones because I wanted it to be more of a book bag than a purse.

It has a rectangular body shape instead of the tapered ones so it's the perfect size for books, notebooks, etc.

And my husband, being the nerdy boy that he is, said it would be perfect for iPads and Kindles and other electronic devices.

So basically it's the perfect bag for whatever you have!

Gobbles

It's almost turkey time!

I don't know why but for some reason there aren't many Thanksgiving decorations out there in the world.

You got your classic pilgrim statues, cornucopias and of course the wooden turkey with the Tootsie Pops sticking out of it but that's about it.

That was making me grumpy so to cheer myself up I had to make one good Thanksgiving pillow.

Sneakhugs Shop!

This is me, Nikki.

And this is the start of something very exciting for me.

You see, lately I've been dabbling in the art of sewing.

I never really thought I'd be any good at it but since practically all the women in my family sew I said oh what the heck I'll give it a try and what do you know, I got the sewing gene!

I love it and find that it comes naturally to me.

I would've never guessed.

Obviously I'm still in the beginner stage but I'm getting better every day.

After making a couple purses for myself I found that I wasn't the only one who liked what I made.

Other people were actually telling me they wanted me to make one for them and asking if I was going to be selling them soon.

I kinda thought people were just being overly polite because obviously my friends and family aren't going to tell me my stuff sucks big time or anything so I pushed selling things to the back of my mind.

I started making pillows next.

Saying that I love holiday decorations is sort of an understatement.

I love love LOVE them!

My house is covered with decorations for practically every holiday of the year but the one thing I can't seem to find for every holiday is a pillow to spice up my couch with.

It's so frustrating!

But once I found out my new sewing talent I realized I could make my own couch spicing pillows.

So I did.

And they are cute.

And again, people would come to my house and tell me that they wanted one so I should stop being a baby and just sell them already.

And I would say oh my gosh leave me alone will ya?

But really I was flattered and decided to take their advice and got an Etsy account.

Right now I'm just starting this whole shop thing.

I've got 3 pillows and 3 purses up right now but I've got a whole notebook full of ideas to be made.

I'm super duper excited to keep creating and having fun with it!
